More than 340000 Euros for the winner

A total number of 300 poker players began the European Poker Tour’s main event, in the city of Copenhagen and after six intense days of competing against each other, Mickey Petersen and Pierre Neuville played each other heads up at the final table.

Pierrre Neuville took care of eliminating the next player from the final table, who was Niels Van Alphen.  In this hand Neuville had an Ace and a King, while Van Alphen had an Ace and a Queen.  This hand was not enough for Van Alphen to defeat Neuville and he was eliminated from the tournament.  In the final parts of the tournament, Aage Ravn decided to go all in with a pair of Queens, but he only saw how Bjarke Hansen paid with an Ace and a King and won the hand.  This left only Petersen, Neuville and Hansen in the tournament and the new champion was preparing to get his crown.

During this time of the tournament, Neuville was able to become chip leader, but he was soon left behind when Petersen eliminated Hansen from the tournament.  The head up part of the tournament, lasted for six hours as both players continued to make aggressive moves to get the victory, but Petersen was finally able to place all of his chips on the center of the table, with a dominated hand and this was how he got the Copenhagen championship.

Four days of poker playing

The Poker Championship in Spain lasted for four days and it registered 262 players, with a purse of 157000 Euros. On the fourth and last day of the championship, only 24 players were in the tables and they really made an incredible competition.  The starting leader on the final day was Javier Piazuelo also known as “Pizu”.  He is the current Spanish champion and he started the fourth day with 559000 chips.  This was the highest level of the tournament and the blinds went up to 8000/16000, which caused many players to get eliminated pretty fast.

Amtaos was eliminated in 10^th position and the final table was finally known.  The final table was quite exciting and it did have some magnificent poker hands, like the one that eliminated the last foreigner in the tournament and Irish man by the name of Connor Power.  The impressive rise of Luis Larrosa to first place was also quite amazing and it made this tournament very interesting to watch.  Juan Carlos Canoves, who was leader for most part of the final table, was eliminated in fifth place by Larrosa and this converted him in chip leader.

After Sergi Garcia fell in 4^th place, the three remaining players decided to divide the pot and end the tournament.    Joel Visa and Jose Ramon Preciado both received 17000 Euros and Luis Larrosa who had most of the chips, received 34000.  It can be said that this was a very exciting tournament and Luis Larrosa surely deserved to win.  He competed incredibly throughout the tournament and he was amazing at the final table.  Many of the other players also performed incredibly well, but it was not enough to beat Larrosa.
